The purpose of this study is to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of an experimental drug called tozadenant as a possible treatment of the symptoms of Parkinson's disease. The most widely used medication for the treatment of Parkinson's disease is levodopa (L-dopa). However, L-dopa does not always control the symptoms and extra medications eventually need to be taken. Tozadenant is believed to act on parts of the brain where dopamine controls movement.
