Psychosis Research Program

Under the direction of Sophia Frangou, MD, PhD, and other clinical scientists, our program uses state-of-the-art technologies in neuroimaging and cognitive neuroscience to improve our understanding of the mechanisms that lead to psychosis and to identify new treatments. Our research includes:

  • A program to develop neuroimaging tests for the diagnosis and prognosis of psychosis.
  • Use of real-time Functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (fMRI) to ameliorate persistent hallucinations.
  • Development of clinical trial protocols for new treatment interventions.

Our mission is to promote discovery and accelerate translation of biomedical advances into novel prevention, detection, and treatment strategies for patients suffering from psychosis.
