The Division of Hospital Medicine is integrally involved with patient care and quality improvement, medical education, and research. Our physicians are top clinicians and academic hospitalists who provide inpatient care across a wide range of common disorders and in the coordination of that inpatient care. We work collaboratively across all disciplines to advance the care of patients at the Mount Sinai Health System as well as to develop care initiatives that can be applied throughout the United States. As hospitalists, we strive daily to improve transitions of care and reduce re-admissions. By implementing information technology, including electronic medical records, we are also improving length of stay.
The goals of the division are to:
- Provide outstanding care to patients throughout the medical and non-medical services in an efficient and patient-centered manner;
- Recruit and retain exceptional hospitalists;
- Train future generations of hospitalists as academic leaders;
- Perform meaningful research and scholarly projects on clinical and educational topics that advance the field of hospital medicine and the education of future inpatient physicians.
