Fellowship Program in Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Bone Disease

The second and optional third year of the fellowship is devoted primarily to research while further enhancing clinical skills in endocrinology through continuity clinics and elective rotations. Each fellow, under the guidance of a mentor, defines an area of research, and then designs and conducts an appropriate research project.

The goal of these second and third years is to develop an understanding of the intricacies of clinical or basic scientific research, to enable the fellow to gain expertise in a selected area, and to develop an appreciation of the strengths and pitfalls of laboratory or clinical research. Research projects are formally presented at our semi-annual fellow research conferences. All of the aforementioned are essential steps toward developing a successful academic career.
