Message from the Chair

Here at the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine, my colleagues and I are committed to assisting individuals with disabilities and painful conditions. Our rehabilitation goals are to raise the level of each individual's skills and independence, educate our patients and their families about their conditions, and provide the care and support that will enable them to improve the quality of their lives.

Our patients and their families can learn about their conditions through a variety of instructional courses and individual sessions led by members of our rehabilitation team. We strongly encourage the hands-on training of family members, because family involvement is an important link in the rehabilitation process.

We offer our services as individual clinicians and as a team of professionals, working collegially with our patients and their families at every point in the continuum of care, providing acute care, inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation, and follow-up in the community for as long as services are needed.
