About the Program Director, Dr. Jeffrey A. Stock

Dr. Stock is Vice Chair of the Department of Urology; Director of Pediatric Urology, Minimally Invasive and Robotic Pediatric Urologic Surgery, and an Associate Professor of Urology and Pediatrics. He attended medical school at Mount Sinai and did his post-doctoral training at the University of Medicine and Dentistry, New Jersey Medical School (urological surgery residency) and the University of California, San Diego/Children's Hospital of San Diego (pediatric urology fellowship).

Dr. Stock's practice is dedicated exclusively to pediatric urology and the surgical reconstruction of genitourinary birth defects. His clinical specialties include the evaluation and treatment of children with urinary tract infections, vesicoureteral reflux and hydronephrosis. He has extensive experience in the surgical repair of hypospadias, ureteral reflux, and ureteropelvic junction obstruction. Dr. Stock has developed minimally invasive procedures as alternative treatment to open surgery. Dr.Stock is one of the most experienced urologists in the tri-state area in performing robotic assisted surgery on children.

Dr. Stock is Associate Editor for the journal "Urology" and has published more than 60 articles in peer reviewed journals. He is also the Co-Editor of the textbook Urologic Robotic Surgery. Since 2003, he has been listed in the New York Metro editions of Castle Connolly's "America's Top Doctors," as well as in the 2009-2012 "Top Doctors" issues of New Jersey Monthly and the 2008-2013 "Best Doctors" issue of New York Magazine.

Dr. Stock has been active on Mount Sinai's Urology Education Committee since joining the Mount Sinai faculty in 2006 and is currently also the Department's Vice Chairman for Career Development and Mentoring. With his demonstrated interest in resident training, it is not surprising that our residents have consistently named him as one of the best teachers and mentors on our faculty. "Having helped select the best and brightest students to join Mount Sinai Urology", he says, "it continuously excites and energizes me to oversee residency training and act as a key mentor to these men and women as they strive for academic, clinical and research excellence."
