Dual Degree & Specialty Programs

At the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, we offer several accelerated, collaborative programs that help students broaden their professional skills and enhance postgraduate opportunities. By taking advantage of our integrated dual degree and specialty programs, you can expand and apply your medical training, human services practice, and care management skills to multiple fields of study.

Dual Degree & Specialty Programs

Our programs are designed to maximize your learning across different areas of study while preparing you for practicing medicine, conducting research, interpreting diagnostics, or implementing systemic change. Explore our dual degree and specialty programs to make the most of your time at Icahn Mount Sinai.

MD-PhD Program

Our NIH-funded Program combines clinical education with next-generation research to prepare you to become a physician-scientist. Choose from eight multidisciplinary training areas to personalize your experience and thesis research.

MSW/MPH Program

Earn two degrees in three years in our accelerated MSW/MPH dual degree program. The Program trains you in prevention, community health, and the delivery of health care to vulnerable populations.

DPM/MPH Program

Build a foundation of podiatric medicine that fits within total health and wellness in our DPM/MPH program. You will earn both degrees in four years in collaboration with the New York College of Podiatric Medicine.

MD/MPH Program

Choose a four- or five-year plan to earn both your MD and MPH degrees. This program trains you in the facets of community health while advancing your clinical experience to treat diseases.

MD/MSCR (PORTAL) Program

Designed to encourage the career development of medical students who want to become leading physician-scientists, the MD/MSCR program provides a multidisciplinary approach to clinical investigation in a mentored environment.

Global Health Scholars Program

Designed to improve the health of underserved communities, the Program trains future leaders in global health through innovative curricula and real-world experiences—both in the classroom and in the field.

Physician Scholars Program

The Physician Scholars Program is an integration of doctoral studies with clinical residency and fellowship training. You will learn to advance medicine and patient care through several perspectives and gain experience that is rare in the field.

Primary Care Scholars Program

Meet the evolving health needs of local and global communities in the Primary Care Scholars Program. You will receive ongoing career guidance and mentorship from leaders in the field of primary care medicine throughout your time at Icahn Mount Sinai.
