The Postdoc Alumni Group
The Postdoctoral Chapter of the ISMMS Alumni provides advice to postdoctoral researchers on career development, brings together scientists working in academia and the life science industries, and encourages and facilitates collaboration.
The ISMMS Postdoc Periodical highlights the ongoing research accomplishments and achievements of our postdoctoral fellows. Additionally it features events and activities relevant to postdocs. If you have an item that you would like to share, please contact email@example.com.

Annual Postdoc Symposium
An annual one day event every September, Postdoc Day is part of Postdoc Week and is run entirely by the Postdoc Executive Committee. It features a prominent keynote speaker, workshops, and activities that promote postdoc training endeavors and postdoc seminars. Awards and prizes are given. Past speakers include Bruce Alberts, prominent biochemist and National Medal of Science winner, Harold Varmus, former director of NIH and current director of NCI and Shirley Tilghman, president of Princeton University and a leader in the field of molecular biology.
Postdoc Social Fridays
Usually held on the last Friday of every month, these events offer the opportunity to interact, network, and exchange ideas with other postdocs as well as invited guests.
Basic Science Forum
The Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences and the Basic Science Departments offer a quarterly happy hour with free food and beverages in the Student Lounge located on the first floor of the Annenberg Building.
