Research Overview
Mass spectrometry is a sophisticated analytical technique that can characterize, identify, and quantify a large variety of compounds. As detailed in a recent book by Dr. John Roboz, this technique has recently become a major tool in cancer pharmacology and biology. Since its inception less than 25 years ago, the laboratory has been devoted to use mass spectrometry, alone and in combination with various chromatographic techniques, to a variety of areas in cancer research. Our projects have included collaborative studies with a number of scientists and physicians in a number of departments within Mount Sinai, and also outside institutions; we also have our own projects for methods development and applications.
