Since it opened in 1968, the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai has been a groundbreaking leader in medical and graduate education, research, and health care delivery. With health equity as the bedrock of our programs, we nurture a diverse body of medical students, graduate students, postdocs, residents, and fellows. As the sole academic partner for the Mount Sinai Health System, the Icahn School of Medicine houses diverse medical and graduate education programs and research hubs that are led by award-winning faculty. The Icahn School of Medicine is located on the border of the Upper East Side and East Harlem, offering unparalleled access and experiences to the diverse New York City community.

Our medical education program blurs the traditional distinction between pre-clinical and clinical years by integrating the basic sciences across courses, introducing students into the clinical environment from their first day of school.
