Specimen Management

We provide support for bio-specimen collection protocols integrated with longitudinal clinical data capture. Using both in-house and third-party tools, we can support a wide array of specimen collection and clinical annotation needs.

Our secure, web-based Electronic Research Application Portal© (eRAP) features the Rapid Database Generator© (RDG) toolkit, which provides quick, easy development of donor management services in support of consent management, family and medical history questionnaires, and other clinical annotation.

Integrated Systems

The RDG toolkit provides longitudinal specimen collection and annotation in accordance with the protocol. It is integrated with:

  • Specimen banking systems such as the Department of Medicine's LIMS system or Department of Pathology’s Freezerworks for storage container and specimen management
  • Mount Sinai's clinical lab systems for automated orders and result posting for research only tests (this service does not apply to standard of care tests and results)
  • The Mount Sinai Data Warehouse to create data marts for consented donors containing de-identified clinical data about specimens
