Oral Histories and Sound Recordings

The Arthur H. Aufses, Jr. MD Archives has a large collection of recordings of interviews, events, meetings, and lectures that date from the 1960s to the present day. Most of these are sound recordings, but there are also videotapes. These represent media created by the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, Mount Sinai Beth Israel, The Mount Sinai Hospital, and the St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital Alumni Association. Over the years, the Aufses Archives has had the tapes transcribed and, whenever possible, has digitized the recordings. On these pages you will find transcripts of the recordings as well as a link to the sound or video files. Some entries only have transcripts if the original recording was lost or if the quality of the recording was not satisfactory.
