Every Friday at noon, research performed by faculty, fellows, and outside experts is presented. These lectures are of the highest quality and aid fellows in learning about existing research at Mount Sinai, and in choosing mentors for research projects. During a two-month period in the winter, research seminars are specifically dedicated to exposing fellows to different areas of research being conducted at Mount Sinai. In these sessions, program leaders present overall synopses of the areas they investigate along with recent progress. In particular, they highlight work being done by individual faculty members in their area, and opportunities for fellows' involvement in clinical and basic research. Sessions are obligatory for all fellows and are critical to the process of choosing career development tracks.
