The Mount Sinai Department of Pathology
The Lillian and Henry M. Stratton-Hans Popper Department of Pathology at the Icahn School of Medicine has long offered one of the world’s premier anatomic and clinical pathology training programs.
The strong rapport between pathology and clinical services facilitates our advances in understanding and treating disease. Many collaborative research opportunities exist intra- and interdepartmentally. Specimens that most departments may come across only once every five years or more are seen on a monthly basis here.
Mount Sinai is home to more of New York’s “Top Doctors” than any other hospital facility in the area. In Castle Connolly's list of "America's Top Doctors," which ranks 3,415 physicians from hospitals nationwide, Mount Sinai is home to 84 of these physicians, the fifth highest total of any hospital in the book.
Carlos Cordon-Cardo, PhD, is Professor and Chair of the Department of Pathology. Read More
