Welcome to the Mount Sinai MD/PhD Program
Welcome to the MD/PhD program at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York City. You will be joining a rigorous, integrated Medical Scientist Training Program (MSTP) that combines clinical education from one of the nation’s leading medical schools with next-generation research in one of the nation’s foremost biomedical research communities, with the two tightly integrated in an extraordinarily effective translational environment. Our MSTP takes a cross-disciplinary approach to address complex biomedical problems, promote innovative collaborations, and expose students to initiatives that bridge science and medicine. Mount Sinai’s MSTP graduates are uniquely poised to embark upon careers as leaders to drive basic science discoveries toward improved clinical care.
Seventh year MD/PhD student Thomas Hays speaks about his experience at the Icahn School of Medicine.
Match Day - a day where future doctors find out where they will go for residency training. Will they get to be a pediatrician or a surgeon? Will they live in the New York area or across the country?
The Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai has created a uniquely fertile environment for its scientists, clinicians, and faculty to innovate biomedical research, practice, and education -- with the ultimate aim of producing the kinds of discoveries and therapeutic advances that will change how humans are effected by disease.
