Global Health Concentration

The Global Health concentration in the Master of Public Health (MPH) program is designed for students interested in bringing practical solutions to the health problems of underserved and neglected populations in resource poor settings worldwide. Through didactic and practical experience, you learn to work in a wide variety of settings with diverse populations, both domestically and abroad. We encourage students to pursue locations and topics that are of particular interest to them.

Courses in this concentration address a wide variety of topics such as equitable distribution of life-saving drugs, the health impact of asylum seekers, global communicable diseases, global trade, humanitarian aid, and the public health impact of military intervention. You can also take advantage of the Arnhold Institute for Global Health, which offers programs in New York and around the globe.

“When I started the program, I was interested in a variety of global public health aspects but wasn't sure how to pursue a career in the field. I was able to participate in global health fieldwork through the program, which strengthened my passion for research and allowed me to get an immersive cultural experience."
