This program is designed to prepare you for a career as a data analyst and applied statistician in the biomedical sciences. It is the ideal advanced degree choice if your goal is to work as a biostatistician in a clinical, research, or industry setting. It also serves as a perfect stepping stone on the path to a doctoral degree in Biostatistics or Epidemiology.
The program is sponsored by the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai (ISMMS), and by the Center for Biostatistics and Department of Population Health Science & Policy at ISMMS.
Presented in a one-year, full-time format, the program offers you rigorous and comprehensive didactic training in high-quality clinical and translational research. Our curriculum emphasizes strong quantitative training, critical thinking skills, and practical strategies for addressing complex challenges of novel, clinical research. You will be part of a small cohort consisting of only 5-10 students, giving you the opportunity to gain excellent mentorship and individualized attention from faculty across biostatistics and a variety of other disciplines.
Within the context of a world-class medical school and health system, our graduate school provides you with a stimulating and collaborative environment where you can make the critical connections between science, biostatistics, medicine, education, and health care delivery.
You can review the content for our Theory & Methods track here and for our Clinical Applications track here.
International students admitted to the Master of Science in Biostatistics Program may be issued I-20s by the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.
