Englewood Hospital and Medical Center is a voluntary, acute care community hospital with a 120-year commitment to excellence in medical education. Englewood was the first New Jersey hospital affiliated with Icahn School of Medicine and is recognized as one of the most prestigious teaching hospitals in the state.
Englewood Hospital and Medical Center has continuously offered graduate medical education training programs that have kept pace with the accelerating demands of modern medicine. In addition, Mount Sinai trainees in Surgery, Pediatrics, Pathology, and Critical Care Medicine rotate through Englewood.
As a fully accredited teaching facility, Englewood maintains a strong commitment to continuing education for medical professionals. Englewood’s medical library houses one of the state’s largest collections of scientific references and features state-of-the-art computer capabilities as well as linkages to the Mount Sinai network. The Medical Center of Learning, with its 400-seat auditorium and modern video facilities, has established Englewood as the area’s premier location for medical and educational gatherings.
Located in a suburban setting in northern Bergen County, just miles from the George Washington Bridge, Englewood delivers a broad range of comprehensive health services provided by a 500-member medical staff and highly skilled healthcare professionals.
In its effort to meet ongoing challenges in healthcare, Englewood continues to expand its clinical and facility offerings. State-of-the-art technology and equipment includes diagnostic and service capabilities in angiography, cardiac catheterization, non-invasive cardiac diagnostic testing, radiation oncology, endoscopy, renal dialysis, and same-day procedures.
As a leader in innovative services, Englewood has initiated a broad range of state-of-the-art medical programs. Its Cytodiagnosis and Breast Care Center, which offers highly accurate, non-surgical options for early cancer diagnosis, is a national model for breast cancer diagnosis and management and a world leader in the performance and interpretation of fine-needle aspiration biopsies.
The New Jersey Institute for the Advancement of Bloodless Medicine and Surgery is a pioneer in transfusionless medicine and surgery and one of only a handful of hospitals worldwide that performs complicated medical procedures without blood transfusions. The Vascular Institute is a national leader in vascular diagnosis and treatment. The Pediatric Specialty Center offers virtually every pediatric specialty from Cardiology and Gastroenterology to Endocrinology and Neurology. The Radiology Center features the most advanced computed tomography (CT) scan technology and the only hospital-based open Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) machine in the region. A full range of critical care facilities includes a neonatal intensive care unit. Englewood is also a leader in treatment technology, setting new precedents in laser and laparoscopic surgery applications.
