There will be no "graduation practice" so it is essential that you understand these instructions in order for the Commencement ceremony to run as smoothly as possible.
Timeline for the Day:
8:30 Graduates are required to be at Avery Fisher Hall
8:45 * Special seating accommodations
9:00 Guests will be begin to be seated
9:30 The Commencement ceremony begins with processional
11:45 Ceremony will conclude (approximately)
Photographs
You will be allowed to take pictures outside after the ceremony but you will have to return the cap and gown back inside Avery Fisher Hall.
After the ceremony ends, you will have 30 minutes to take pictures with your guests and return the academic regalia to the Herff Jones drop off stations inside Avery Fisher Hall (outside the auditorium and by the main entrance). You must return the regalia as you will not be permitted to leave the premises with it. Remember you only have 30 minutes immediately following the ceremony. For example, if the ceremony ends at 11:45am, you will have until 12:15 to take pictures and return your cap and gown. If the ceremony ends at 11:50 you will have until 12:20pm.
A professional photographer will be hired by Mount Sinai to get shots of the graduates when they receive their diploma on stage. Prints of these professional shots will be available for purchase after the Commencement ceremony. You will receive further information on how to order prints in late May.

- Should your guests need disabled/special seating accommodations at Commencement - seating or otherwise - please contact ronni.shapiro@mountsinai.org in the Office of Special Events who will assist you with those arrangements.
Diploma
You will receive your actual diploma at Commencement (if your checkout is complete). If you have pending requirements, you will have to complete your sign out process before an actual diploma will be provided to you. Once you have completed signing out, you can obtain your diploma in the Registrar’s Office, by contacting nelson.pe@mssm.edu.
