Centers for Community and Academic Research Partnerships
The Centers for Community and Academic Research Partnerships (CCARP) connects faculty and community members so that the values and culture of the community are respected throughout the research process. To achieve our goals, we direct our services to community and academic members in order to create a unique environment where both groups learn from one another.
We work closely with Mount Sinai faculty, residents in training, and students who either are involved in or want to learn more about engaging in community-focused and participatory research. Additionally, we work with community groups and organizations interested in research collaborations and/or developing their own research capacity.
Our consultation, training and education, and data services are available to community organizations, faculty, and students. We provide opportunities for community and faculty to develop meaningful research partnerships with the goal of receiving outside funding, conducting effective research, and translating study results into action and policy change. CCARP strives to provide access to information and data that are relevant to the development of new projects.
CCARP is guided by the Community-Academic Partnership Board who represent New York City communities and Mount Sinai Faculty.
