About Immunogenetics
The Immunogenetics laboratory at the Mount Sinai Medical Center provides clinical HLA testing services to support the hematopoietic stem cell transplantation program. HLA testing is primarily used to find the most suitable donor for the transplant, but also available for other clinical applications and clinical research purposes. The laboratory is accredited by the American Society for Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics (ASHI), the College of American Pathologists (CAP), and the New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH).
Directed by S. Yoon Choo, MD, and supervised by Oksana Gudzowaty, CHS, the laboratory’s mission is to provide accurate HLA testing in a timely manner and to offer consultation services in order to help facilitate hematopoietic stem cell transplantation and guide clinical decisions in patient care and management.
