Office of Academic Development and Enrichment Events

Every year, OADE and related groups at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai (ISMMS) team up to host comprehensive workshops, seminars, and discussions designed to help junior faculty plan their careers. Your feedback is vital to OADE's success -- if you don't see an event for a topic you're interested in, we encourage you to contact Rod.Aminian@mssm.edu. Please view our calendar to find out what is currently scheduled.

Ongoing Events and Programs

Coffee Talk

Coffee Talk is an informal gathering that will introduce you to resources at ISMMS, let you know about seminars we have coming up, and give you the chance to meet other new faculty. The Dean for Academic Development and Enrichment, Lakshmi Devi, Ph.D., attends Coffee Talk to answer any questions you may have about the Mount Sinai Health System. New faculty of all ranks are welcome to join. Coffee Talk is held bi-monthly on the 4th Thursday of February, April, June, August and October in the Starbucks in Annenberg Lobby (1468 Madison Avenue). Please RSVP to Rod.Aminian@mssm.edu if you plan to attend.

Junior PI Club (JPIC)

JPIC is a group of junior ISMMS faculty that create a casual forum for junior PIs to network and make new friends. Events are typically held on the 2nd Wednesday of every month at Da Capo (1392 Madison Avenue between 96th and 97th Street). For more information, contact Nelly ndarawis-Puri at Nelly.Andarawis-Puri@mountsinai.org or Avner Schlessinger at Avner.Schlessinger@mountsinai.org.

Faculty Innovation and Collaboration Prizes

The Office of Academic Development and Enrichment seeks to highlight collaborative, innovative research conducted by young investigators in the Mount Sinai Health System by awarding prizes. A recent prize, the "Faculty Innovative-Collaborations Idea Prize" sought a multi-disciplinary research idea that could be translated into a marketable product. Applicants are typically restricted to tenure-track assistant professors who have completed fewer than 5 years at their rank.

The application period is closed at this time. Check back for updates.
