Program Overview

The Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Reproductive Science has implemented a one-year fellowship program in Advanced Minimally Invasive Gynecologic and Pelvic Surgery.

This fellowship program started July 1, 2003 under the directorship of Herbert Gretz, M.D. Dr. Gretz is a Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology and a Gynecologic Oncologist in the Division of Gynecologic Oncology. Dr. Gretz is nationally and internationally acknowledged for his pioneering work and teaching in advanced laparoscopic surgery for malignant and benign gynecologic and pelvic disorders.

Fellows will be trained in performing and conducting research in addition to acquiring training in advanced operative hysteroscopy and laparoscopic procedures of gynecological pelvic disorders. Fellows will also have the opportunity to work with other faculty members in the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Science and in the Division of Minimally Invasive Surgery in the Department of Surgery.
