Program Overview

The predoctoral training program in cancer biology is an NCI-funded program directed by Stuart A. Aaronson, M.D., and co-directed by James Manfredi, Ph.D.. The research areas of this program include: oncogenes and signaling pathways; tumor suppressors and cell cycle regulation; transcription factors; differentiation and development; metastasis and cell adhesion; and DNA replication and repair. The program combines research in cancer biology with a curriculum that challenges trainees to consider how their research could translate into improvements in the diagnosis and treatment of cancer.
