- Cynthia Santiago, B.B.A., is the administrative assistant for the division chief of General Pediatrics. She has been with Icahn School of Medicine since May 2001. She received her Bachelorâ€™s Degree in Business Administration from Baruch College and is a native East Harlem resident. As the administrative assistant, Ms. Santiago is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the division.
- Maan Dela Cruz, M.P.H., is the research coordinator for the Division of General Pediatrics. She began working for the division in fall 2003 as she concurrently pursued her Master's Degree in Public Health at the Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health. Her primary interests include childhood/adolescent obesity, bullying, and minority health issues. During her time with Mount Sinai, Ms. Dela Cruz has been involved in several projects including the development of an interactive, educational material for pediatricians, the collection and entering of data on school injuries, and the mapping of children bereaved as a result of 9/11. Currently, she is working primarily as the project coordinator for Reaching Children Initiative and the American Academy of Pediatrics New York Chapter 3 Web-based Child Psychiatry Access Project (Web-CPAP). Other responsibilities include basic research-related tasks such as conducting literature reviews and assisting in grantwriting activities.
