Department of Pharmacology and Systems Therapeutics
Mount Sinai's Dorothy H. and Lewis Rosenstiel Department of Pharmacology and Systems Therapeutics focuses on the biological mechanisms underlying complex physiologies and pathophysiologies and translating biological knowledge into new therapeutics. We are a basic science department within the School of Medicine.
Our mission is twofold:
- To develop an understanding of the common mechanisms and processes that underlie multiple diseases
- To serve as a nucleating unit for drug discovery and drug action research in the many disease-focused research programs in clinical departments

Interdisciplinary research programs focused on understanding the origins and mechanisms underlying complex diseases and development of new therapeutics. Read More
Starting in 2013, Systems Biology Center New York (SBCNY) investigators will offer free online graduate-level systems biology courses through Coursera. Read More
