Eating & Weight Disorders Program

Rotation Director: Tom Hildebrandt, PsyD
Attending Psychiatrists: Nadia Micali, MD, PhD, and Milana Mor, MD

This program offers evidence-based outpatient interventions for children, adolescents, and adults with anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge eating disorder, and obesity. Inpatient and day treatment programs for eating disorders are also in development. The program currently provides consultations, comprehensive diagnostic assessments, and treatment that target both the eating pathology and comorbid conditions, such as anxiety and depression. Three treatment modalities are used: a specialized family-based treatment known as the Maudsley method, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and the "LEARN" (Lifestyle, Exercise, Attitudes, Relationships, and Nutrition) Program for Weight Management. Research efforts in the fields of eating disorders and obesity are also underway. Trainees will have the opportunity to participate in both the clinical services and the research efforts.
