The goal of this program is to provide participants with a broad overview of the most common disorders of the musculoskeletal system that they frequently encounter in the outpatient setting. Emphasis will be placed on physical exam, diagnosis, and treatment of musculoskeletal disorders. Lectures will cover the diagnosis and non-surgical management of common conditions of the musculoskeletal system. Workshops will be offered in musculoskeletal examination, injection techniques, splinting methods, and imaging interpretation
At the conclusion of the course, the participant will be able to:
- Describe the diagnosis and treatment of common musculoskeletal disorders
- Apply physical examination, basic injection, casting and splinting techniques
- Interpret and order appropriate imaging studies
