National Medical Fellowships Awards Dr. Gary Butts with Lifetime Achievement Award

The National Medical Fellowships (NMF) will honor Mount Sinai’s Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer and Senior Associate Dean for Diversity, Gary Butts, MD, with a Lifetime Achievement Award at its May 10 New York Champions of Health Awards. Since its inception, NMF has distributed awards and scholarships to more than 30,000 minority medical students who have gone on to become incredible physicians and health care leaders. Dr. Butts, an NMF alumni, has worked closely with the organization to support its efforts to give back.
NMF is a nonprofit organization dedicated to increasing the number of underrepresented minority physicians and other professionals in the healthcare workforce in order to improve access to quality healthcare in medically underserved communities. NMF seeks to increase the pipeline of doctors, nurses and physician assistants who have the professional knowledge, cultural competency and commitment to provide quality healthcare for all members of our diverse society.
