Medical Student Research Office

The Medical Student Research Office (MSRO) develops research programs and helps medical students to identify interesting areas of research and to locate outstanding faculty mentors who are working in these areas. The MSRO also assists students in identifying funding for research.

A variety of research programs for medical students are available including :

  • Summer Research – 8 weeks of mentored research
    • Summer Research Scholars Program
    • Patricia S. Levinson Summer Fellowship in Community Based Research and Service
    • PRISM ( Patient Research in Science and Medicine)
  • PORTAL – a 5 year, dual degree MD/MSCR program
  • Scholarly Year Program – a full year of mentored basic or clinical/translational experience
  • INSPIRE (Individual Scholarly Project and Indepdent Research Experience) - a 12 week scholarly experience during the 4th year
