With approximately 1,200 medical students, PhD students, master’s students, and postdoctoral fellows, the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai has a vibrant student body who fully participate in our education, research, and clinical communities.

- Audit and Compliance. We are committed to upholding its commitment to legal and ethical conduct by faculty, students, and staff. We maintain a confidential compliance hotline that you can use whenever you need.
- Consumer Information. We maintain data about graduation and attrition rates for all medical and graduate students. We also track what our medical students do after graduation.
- Disability Services. We strive to provide a physically and educationally accessible educational environment for every student. To this end, we provide a range of support services, including access modification, learning-related technology, and extended test time. We view each student based on abilities, not disabilities.
- Ethics Services. We believe in maintaining the highest moral standards in all of our research endeavors. Our Research Ethics Consult Service can help you think through any possible concerns in your study design. We focus on issues such as informed consent risk reduction, and working with vulnerable populations.
- Housing. We guarantee subsidized housing for all full-time students in our medical school or doctoral program. Our Mount Sinai-owned residence halls are within walking distance of The Mount Sinai Hospital.
- Parent and Family Resources. We are committed to supporting our faculty, staff, and students as you manage the competing priorities of family, career, and education. We offer resources on child care, lactation rooms, housing, parenting support groups, and financial resources available for our faculty, staff, and students.
- Registration. We address all issues related to student records. We can help with any questions you might have about course registration, degree requirements, and transcripts.
- Student Government. The Student Council represents students in all of our medial and graduate programs. Our aim is to improve all aspects of student life. The Council meets monthly and encompasses a variety of committees, from recreation to community service. Our aim is to improve all aspects of student life.
- Student Handbook and Policies. Our student handbooks detail the school policies, procedures, and programs you need to succeed at Mount Sinai. It’s a good place to check if you have any questions about educational, counseling, or institutional opportunities.
- Student Health and Wellness. We provide high-quality care to all students, including physical exams, illness visits, and access to confidential mental health services. All students have special protection on your electronic health records. We support all aspects of wellness: spiritual, emotional, physical, professional, social, and financial.
- Student Organizations. We maintain a wide range of student organizations to help you participate fully in our educational, research, and clinical communities. They focus on a variety of areas, including wellness organizations, identity groups, community outreach, public health, and governing bodies.
