
Immunogenetics
The Immunogenetics laboratory at the Mount Sinai Medical Center provides clinical HLA (histocompatibility leucocyte antigen) testing services to support the hematopoietic stem cell transplantation program. HLA testing is also available for other clinical applications and clinical research purposes. The Laboratory is accredited by the American Society for Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics (ASHI), the College of American Pathologists (CAP), and the New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH).
The Immunogenetics clinical services we provide, include:
- HLA Testing for Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation
- HLA Typing and HLA Antibody Testing for Other Clinical Applications
- Routine Turn-Around-Time (TAT) or STAT Testing

Blood specimens (collected in lavender-capped tubes) with HLA test requisition form may be hand-delivered to the lab or sent via pneumatic tube system (Station #114, Blood Bank Laboratory).
