Cellular Therapy
The Cellular Therapy Laboratory (CTL) supports busy adult and pediatric bone marrow / stem cell transplant and multiple myeloma programs at the Mount Sinai Medical Center with over 160 transplants performed annually. Our laboratory is responsible for processing, storing, transporting, and assisting with the infusion of cellular therapy products (also called stem cell products) used for autologous and related and unrelated allogeneic transplantation. These processes are regulated by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and accredited by the Foundation for the Accreditation of Cellular Therapy (FACT) and the American Association of Blood Banks (AABB).
The laboratory has successfully passed numerous regulatory / accrediting inspections (FACT, NYS DOH, AABB, and CAP), and the CTL team was honored with a “Recognition of Excellence Award” in 2011.
