Cytogenetic Core and Research 

The Tumor Cytogenetics Laboratory provides an important technical resource to investigators at the Mount Sinai Medical Center and other academic centers in New York City. Conventional and molecular cytogenetics is a fundamental adjunct to a variety of other molecular and cellular techniques for the determination of chromosomal or gene rearrangements (cytogenomics). 

The Laboratory’s research also includes probe labeling and development, as well as investigations into the role of chromosomal aberrations in the pathogenesis of myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPN).
