Meet Our Team

The NIH Faculty Institutional Recruitment for Sustainable Transformation (FIRST) program at Icahn Mount Sinai is led by a multidisciplinary team of renowned investigators. The twelve new faculty that we hire will be sorted, based on their scientific foci and expertise, into four clusters (neuroscience, health equity, cancer, and microbiology) within The Friedman Brain Institute, the Institute for Health Equity Research, The Tisch Cancer Institute, and the Global Health and Emerging Pathogens Institute. Leaders from across the institution are deeply committed to the success of these faculty and the program overall.

Administrative Core

Composed of the principal investigator and multiple principal investigators, our Administrative Core oversees all aspects of the NIH FIRST program at Icahn Mount Sinai.

Cluster Oversight Committee

The Cluster Oversight Committee facilitates research success and professional development of the new hires in their respective Institutes.

Evaluation Core

The Evaluation Core is responsible for assessing the effectiveness and impact of NIH FIRST at Mount Sinai through rigorous, multilevel, iterative evaluation.
