Recruitment and Outreach
Neuropsychoimaging of Addiction and Related Conditions (NARC) in the Department of Psychiatry is looking for postdoctoral fellows.
The candidate will be expected to interact within this dynamic group and with the PIs with the task to conduct specialized recruitment, screening, and follow-up with individuals and families with problem behaviors (drug addiction, incarcerated, impulsive aggressive). The candidate will be responsible to find potential subjects using creative means of advertising and outreach; We seek a highly motivated individual with a BA or MA in social work or psychology. Experience in outreach and recruitment of problem populations is required. The successful applicant will also have strong communication skills and will be able to give outreach lectures in prisons and rehab centers.
The candidates will analyze a complex neuroimaging dataset that includes several functional MRI tasks performed by individuals with intermittent explosive and individuals with drug addiction. Resting-state functional connectivity data is also available in these subjects. The candidates are expected to write papers for publication and help with submission of research proposals for funding. Knowledge of SPSS and imaging analyses platforms as matlab and other relevant software (e.g., SPM, Brainvoyager, Analyze, E-Prime, Freesurfer) is expected. Programming experience is a plus.
