The following is a breakdown of the weight given to each component of the clerkship for the purpose of evaluating students' performance:

  • 30% performance during 3 weeks at Elmhurst
  • 30% performance during 3 weeks at Mount Sinai
  • 15% Case Presentation and Participation w/Teaching Resident
  • 10% Mentor Evaluation
  • 10% Oral Exam
  • 5% Shelf Exam

Students can expect everyone who teaches them during their clerkships to have input into their evaluation. Students' clinical performance is evaluated by attending physicians, chief residents, senior residents, and junior residents. Besides clinical knowledge, students are assessed for their sense of professionalism, teamwork, and integrity.
