The IME is committed to fostering continued growth for its members and the members of the medical educational community at large. Below are links to programs at other institutions which offer educators unique opportunities to broaden their formal training in medical education.

Executive Leadership in Academic Medicine (ELAM)
Established in 1995, ELAM offers an intensive one-year program of leadership training with extensive coaching, networking and mentoring opportunities aimed at expanding the national pool of qualified women candidates for leadership in academic medicine, dentistry and public health.

The Foundation for Advancement of International Medical Education and Research (FAIMER)
FAIMER is a non-profit foundation committed to improving world health through education. They include an international listing of all Masters programs in the health professions. 

Harvard Macy Institute
The Institute works to inspire and promote real organizational change by training individuals, groups, and organizations across the continuum of health science education.

Master of Science in Medical Education Leadership
The Master of Science in Medical Education Leadership (MMEL) is an online program designed to prepare individuals to assume or enhance their educational leadership roles in a variety of medical and health care training programs. 

Medical Education Research Certificate (MERC) Program
The MERC program is intended to provide the knowledge necessary to understand the purposes and processes of medical education research, to become informed consumers of the medical education research literature, and to be effective collaborators in medical education research. 

Stanford Faculty Development Center
The SFDC’s goal is to disseminate teaching improvement courses to medical faculty nationally and internationally through our facilitator-training programs in Clinical Teaching and Basic Science Teaching. 

University of Illinois Master of Health Professions Education
The Master of Health Professions Education (MHPE) program is designed for health professionals who want to better prepare for educational leadership roles. The program may be completed either on campus (during intensive summer sessions) or online (in a semester-long format).

The Alliance for Academic Internal Medicine (AAIM)
AAIM is the consortium of five academically focused specialty organizations representing departments of internal medicine at medical schools and teaching hospitals in the United States and Canada. 

Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC)
Through its many programs and services, the AAMC strengthens the world's most advanced medical care by supporting the entire spectrum of education, research, and patient care activities conducted by our member institutions. The AAMC Annual Meeting is the nation's largest forum for academic medicine.

The Association for Medical Education in Europe (AMEE)
AMEE organizes an annual conference and delivers courses on teaching, assessment and research skills for teachers in medicine and the healthcare professions. AMEE produces the journal Medical Teacher, a series of education guides, occasional papers and Best Evidence Medical Education guides. 

Association of Professors of Gynecology and Obstetrics (APGO)
APGO is a non-profit, membership-based organization for women's health educators. 

Association for Surgical Education (ASE)
The mission of the Association for Surgical Education is to promote, recognize, and reward excellence, innovation and scholarship in surgical education.

Council on Medical Student Education in Pediatrics (COMSEP)
COMSEP provides a forum for medical educators with administrative responsibilities in pediatrics to exchange ideas and work collaboratively. 

The International Association of Medical Science Educators (IAMSE)
IAMSE is a nonprofit professional development society that provides opportunities to enhance excellence and innovations in teaching, student and program assessment, computer technology, human simulation, learner-centered education, and in many other areas.

The Northeast Group on Educational Affairs (NEGEA)
The NEGEA is one of four regional groups of the AAMC's Group on Educational Affairs (GEA). Our purpose is to promote excellence in the education of medical students, residents, and physicians through the professional development of medical educators. The annual regional meeting is an excellent professional development opportunity for educators in the region.

Ottawa Conference on The Assessment of Competence in Medicine and the Healthcare Professions
The Ottawa Conferences are held biennially and provide a forum for medical and other healthcare professions educators to network and share ideas on all aspects of the assessment of competence in both clinical and non-clinical domains, throughout the continuum of education.
