AAMC/Executive Curriculum Committee
The Executive Curriculum Committee (ECC) is a Dean’s committee charged with reviewing and approving all curricular content and changes. There are four student representatives on the committee. A first-year student chosen is for a four-year term. The students are voting members. Meetings are monthly, 1-2 p.m. on Fridays.
Student representatives to the ECC for the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai are involved in reviewing pre-clinical courses, clerkships, and proposed changes to the curriculum. Students meet regularly with faculty and administration to discuss student feedback and proposed changes. Additionally, the ECC reps will attend the annual AAMC conference as Icahn School of Medicine student representatives. The events at the meeting will be presented to the Student Council and likely will require follow-up within the school.
