Diagnostic Radiology Residency at The Mount Sinai Hospital

Our four-year residency training program provides outstanding experience in all of the radiologic subspecialties. Our faculty and staff are dedicated to educating our trainees in both the ambulatory and inpatient hospital settings. Residents benefit from clinical training at the Mount Sinai Hospital, which serves a diverse community and functions as a tertiary referral center for complex disease. We maintain state-of-the-art equipment in the Mount Sinai Hospital complex and in the Hess Center for Science and Medicine.

As a resident, you complete foundation rotations during your first year of training, gaining experience in the diagnosis and treatment of a broad spectrum of pathology. We provide faculty supervision at all levels of training and our in-house faculty is available 24/7. As you develop and strengthen your interpretive and interventional skills, you take on increasing responsibility. By your senior year of training, you rotate through a mini-fellowship experience based on your area of interest.

The classroom component of the curriculum includes twice-daily educational conferences and a monthly journal club. You will attend the American Institute for Radiologic Pathology during your third year of training.

Our faculty encourages you to participate in research throughout training. You will work with a faculty mentor when you enter our program, to ensure that you remain aware of the many research opportunities available here. We also have ample financial support to allow you to attend national meetings for accepted presentations and abstracts.

We accept eight residents each year.

Our residents perform and share research regularly.

Read recent resident publications and presentations at national meetings.

We accept applicants through the Electronic Residency Application Service and offer all of our residency positions through the National Residency Matching Program. Submit your application between September 1 and November 1. In addition to the standard form, please attach the following to your online application:

  • Curriculum vitae
  • Personal statement
  • Three letters of recommendation
  • Medical school transcript
  • United States Medical Licensing Examination scores
  • Dean’s letter

If you have any questions about the application process or program, please Program Coordinator Katharina Wang with any questions.
