Mount Sinai BioDesign Fellowship Programs

The Mount Sinai BioDesign fellowship serves as an accelerator for innovative members of the Mount Sinai medical community, residents and external students, and entrepreneurs in residence who wish to focus their careers toward medical technology innovation. Fellows lead business development efforts for BioDesign projects with the goal of viable business proposition and commercialization plan.

Participants will actively develop innovations or serve as key participants in existing product development. Fellows and entrepreneurs will work alongside our experienced professional engineers, project managers, and key opinion leaders. Participants can expect hands-on experience in prototyping, intellectual property development, commercialization strategy, and startup operations.

Innovations are given feedback and championed within the Mount Sinai community by opinion leaders. In addition, support services are available to recruit federal and private grant funding, develop commercial plans, recruit established entrepreneurs, and connect with industry leaders.

Currently, there are no fellowships open. As opportunities open up, we’ll provide details on requirements and how to apply.

Strategy for Startups With Elementa Labs

Mount Sinai BioDesign is engaging with startup companies via Elementa Labs, Mount Sinai’s virtual accelerator program that enables startups to explore ways to strategically align their efforts with Mount Sinai and the health care industry in general. This 12-week program gives entities access to subject matter expertise in health care and science, allowing for a better understanding of their customers and the potential advancement of their core technology platforms. The program enables companies to work with a predetermined Mount Sinai champion on strategizing a comprehensive development plan to be executed after programming.
