Deans CoREs | Icahn School of Medicine

The Dean’s CoREs at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai bring crucial instrumentation and methodologies for modern biomedical investigation to our entire research community. Available to all Icahn School investigators, post docs, and graduate students, our facilities are staffed by experts who not only provide services but also serve as sources of training and guidance. As such, our CoREs constitute a major educational resource for those wishing to diversify or explore new avenues of research.

We offer equal access to Dean’s CoREs services to faculty members at the Icahn School, regardless of departmental or center affiliation. When possible, we also accommodate external users, while continuing to provide priority to those within our own research community.

CoREs are not responsible for the application of their products or outcome of research studies involving their products.

Our billing system is designed for efficiency and transparency. Charges are initiated at the time of service request, and we issue monthly invoices based on the fund number provided to us. We appreciate timely communication regarding cancellations, as those made with less than 24 hours' notice incur full charges. For any billing inquiries, we ask investigators to directly contact the corresponding CoRE Director.

The Dean’s CoREs are administered through the Office of the Dean and partially subsidized by institutional funds, and each CoRE benefits from an advisory committee that meets quarterly with its directors. Those seeking to establish a new Dean’s CoRE must submit a proposal for review by the Dean’s Office.
