Uniting Communities, Transforming Health.

At the Institute for Health Equity Research at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, we take a unique, collaborative approach to promoting health equity. Our multidisciplinary team goes beyond research to actively engage with the communities we serve. We partner directly with patients, grassroots organizations, policymakers, and industry leaders to understand health issues from all perspectives. Our community partnerships ensure that people most impacted by inequities can make their voices heard.

By bringing together cross-sector collaborators, we tackle systemic problems from multiple angles to find innovative solutions. Then we translate discoveries into policy changes, new practices, and scalable initiatives that create lasting impact. Our goal is to eliminate disparities and ensure access to quality care. We believe everyone deserves to live a healthy life, regardless of race, ethnicity, age, income, gender identity, or zip code. By learning from those most affected by inequities, we gain crucial insights to drive health equity.
