Christina A Palmese PhD, ABPP is a board-certified clinical neuropsychologist and Director of Neuropsychology at Mount Sinai Beth Israel’s Department of Neurology and Neurosurgery. Dr. Palmese’s clinical interests include pediatric and adult neuropsychological assessments as well as cognitive remediation in people with Parkinson’s disease. She has worked with patients across the lifespan in various medical settings presenting with a variety of medical and neurological conditions, including, but not limited to neurodevelopmental disorders, brain tumors, epilepsy/seizures, dementia/memory disorders, movement disorders/ Parkinson’s disease, and stroke.
She has published research in the areas of epilepsy, movement disorders, and neurodevelopmental disorders in both national and international journals, and she has been invited to present her research at conferences throughout the country.
Dr. Palmese earned her undergraduate degree in Neuroscience from Trinity College, CT and obtained her master’s and doctor of Neuro/psychology degrees from the CUNY Graduate Center, New York, NY. She completed her neuropsychology residency at North Shore-LIJ and a two-year neuropsychology post-doctoral fellowship in the department of neurology at Columbia University Medical Center, New York, NY.
Dr. Palmese remains highly involved in the clinical, research, and outreach communities, and she currently holds the position of President of the New York Neuropsychology Group (NYNG), is a board member of the New York State Association of Neuropsychology (NYSAN), and is involved with the Professional Affairs and Interests Committee, also of NYSAN.
