Electrophysiologic evaluation of transgenic murine models of arrhythmias
In collaboration with Dr. Glen Fishman and Dr Diomedes Logothetis, we have set up facilities to perform electrophysiologic evaluations of transgenic mice with various forms of cardiomyopathies. The studies that we have now working are: invasive electrophysiologic study including atrial and ventricular stimulation in the sedated mouse; Holter Monitoring of the awake mouse; and voltage clamp recording of acutely dissociated single cells. This allows for quite a complete evaluation of the effect of different cardiomyopathies on arrhythmogenesis at various stages of the development of the cardiomyopathy.
Industry Relationships
Physicians and scientists on the faculty of the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai often interact with pharmaceutical, device and biotechnology companies to improve patient care, develop new therapies and achieve scientific breakthroughs. In order to promote an ethical and transparent environment for conducting research, providing clinical care and teaching, Mount Sinai requires that salaried faculty inform the School of their relationships with such companies.
Below are financial relationships with industry reported by Dr. Langan during 2012 and/or 2013. Please note that this information may differ from information posted on corporate sites due to timing or classification differences.
