Dr. Eric Barna is a Professor of Internal Medicine and Medical Education within the Division of Hospital Medicine at the Mount Sinai Medical Center. In his current roles, Dr. Barna serves as the Director of Education for the Division of Hospital Medicine, Associate Program Director for the Internal Medicine Residency, Director of the Hospitalist Career Advisement Program, and the Clerkship Director for the Acting Internship for the ICAHN School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Dr Barna has also spent over a decade as part of the core administrative leadership team for the Division of Hospital Medicine, focusing on operations, staffing, scheduling and faculty performance and development. His primary focus is in undergraduate, graduate and faculty medical education and training. Dr. Barna also serves as a senior faculty advisor and has worked to develop and coach faculty within the Division of Hospital Medicine. Most recently Dr Barna has been appointed to serve as the Director of Education for Mount Sinai International, where he will focus on advancing the mission of the institution to deliver innovative and high-quality care globally.  Additional interests include career development, leveraging technology in trainee education and coaching faculty both regionally and globally on collaborative teaching of medical trainees and staff.
