Tom Neyarapally is a chemical engineer by training who holds graduate degrees in law and business and is an expert in the utilization of advanced mathematical methods, particularly inferential methods, to address critical challenges in healthcare using diverse data (e.g., genomics, EMR, insurance claims).

Before joining Mount Sinai, he spent nine years at GNS Healthcare, an healthcare data analytics company, where he was one of the inventors on the company's core technology patent for its REFS(TM) network inference technology, and was charged with bringing REFS(TM) into new areas of application.
