Using the Latest Research to Improve Your Health

The Mount Sinai Center for Translational Medicine and Pharmacology comprises investigators credited with innovative scientific advances in diverse fields of medicine. We conduct collaborative transdisciplinary research with the goal of identifying novel actionable targets and developing new medicines. Many of our researchers are aspiring physicians and scientists. We strive to nurture their careers, with an eye towards how those careers can help prevent, diagnose, and treat illnesses both common and rare.

Translational medical research bridges important lab discoveries with health care prevention, diagnostics, and treatment. It brings together pre-clinical findings in different fields and looks for their relevance to the treatment of human pathophysiology. As the name suggests, this approach “translates” what we are learning at the research bench into clinical studies that explore the safety and efficacy of novel pharmacology. The goal of translational research is to provide physicians with tools to help improve the lives of patients.

Mount Sinai Center for Translational Medicine and Pharmacology Leadership

In addition to our leadership, non-faculty staff and post-doctoral fellows play a crucial role in keeping the center running smoothly and ensuring its success by providing essential support and services.
