ASSISTANT PROFESSOR | Medicine, Nephrology

Dr. Jia Fu, received her M.D degree at Wuhan University and master of science degree at Nanjing University in China. She then completed her postdoctoral fellowship training at Icahn school of medicine at Mount Sinai, NY. Currently, she is an Assistant Professor and researcher in the Department of Medicine, Division of Nephrology at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Her major research interest has been in the field of exploring pathogenesis of diabetic kidney disease by utilizing molecular profiling of specific cell types in murine and human kidneys. Her lab is currently deploying cutting-edge technologies to deeply understand cell type specific response and cellular crosstalk after kidney injuries, in particular, single cell RNA-seq and spatial transcriptomes. Her research has been published in numerous peer-reviewed papers in these fields.
