Mount Sinai Transgender Psychiatry Fellowship

The transgender psychiatry fellowship program is a one-year opportunity designed to train you in various aspects of transgender mental health care for transgender and gender diverse (TGD) people. Applicants must have completed a residency in general adult psychiatry, must be licensed in New York State, and must be board eligible. Competency in LGBTQ-related mental health care is desirable.

The goal of the fellowship is to teach  transgender medicine and surgery including transgender specific psychiatric evaluation and diagnostics, TGD-specific cultural sensitivity, hormone therapy, and indications and contraindications for surgery. The fellow see patients in the outpatient setting alongside other faculty, carries a case load for acute and longitudinal care,  provides inpatient consultation, teaches residents and medical students, and provides various  modes of treatment including psychopharmacology and psychotherapy.
